Green Urapa Bead

Posted by kreai in

I have made an experiment and found out that in order to gain more np (legally) from your game, all you need is a Green Urapa Bead. So if you have 180,000 np to spare, go to trading place and try to get a Green Urapa Bead. Put it into your Lutari Talisman. Then go and play game. Every now and then you will see something like this:

It will let you have more np from the game. Like a game that gives you 300np per game, it may randomly give you 375np. Yap, you don't have to buy a whole lot of beads. Just this Green Urapa Bead.

Site Update - Accept or Reject Item from Friends

Posted by kreai in

In the News today (June 9, 2007)

Site Update! - Now when you send anyone items, they have the option to accept or reject the item. If they do not respond in 48 hours, the item is returned to the sender.

Why didn't I receive an item my friend sent me? Why didn't my friend receive an item I sent them?

Whenever an item is given between two users, the recipient must accept or reject the item at their Item Event Log.

If the item is accepted, it will appear in their inventory, if it is rejected, it will be sent back to the sender.

If the item has not been accepted or rejected within 48 hours of it being sent, it will be returned to the sender.

Please be cautious of who you accept items from. If you do not know the sender and the item is a fairly valuable one, it may be best to simply reject it.

That's really troublesome. When your friend send you stuff, you have to accept or reject. Gosh!!!

Okay. This is how it work.

On Your Item page AKA Inventory Page, you will see this:

Click it and it will bring you to this page:

Click ACCEPT and PROCESS!

And the item will appear in your Inventory.

So troublesome!!! I wonder why they are doing this. I have a theory but I think I will keep it to myself. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketLOL!

Neopet Competition - Part 3

Competition that requires you to use your brain power and do some writing.

The Neopian Times™

If you have always fancied yourself as a writer, why not enter an article, story or comic in The Neopian Times?

FAQ:
Do I need to write HTML?
No, this is all done by us, you just need to enter your text and we will format it for you.

How do I enter?
Just click on one of the links below and you will be taken step-by-step through the process.

Handy Tips to get your entry published:
1. Use the Submission Form to enter your entry. They do not accept email entries.
entries.

2. Original article or story would help. Something that nobody else has done or written.

3. Must be Neopet related. It's pretty obvious for this tip.

4. Avoid sensitive subjects such as death. And try not to be too controversial. In another word - curry flavoring article will do the trick. LOL.

4. Make sure your story/article is within the word limitations.

Article:
Minimum Size: 1,000 words
Maximum Size: 50,000 words

Comic:
Maximum File Size: 200 KB
Maximum Image Width: 470 pixels
Accepted File Formats: GIF, JPG

Series:
Minimum Size: 1,500 words for each part
Maximum Size: 50,000 words for each part

Short Story:
Minimum Size: 1,200 words
Maximum Size: 4,000 words

Neopian Adventure Spotlight

Have you play a Neopian Adventure? You can enter your own adventure and hopefully win a trophy and 10k np.

Each week, TNT will choose a winner and feature it on the site.

To enter, use this form to submit your username, a brief paragraph describing your adventure, and why your adventure is special. Adventures are judged according to their on different factors in different catergory. Remember to check your spelling and grammar before you submit! LOL!!! Don't think TNT will like improper language.

Some rules:

1) You can only have one entry in the database at a time! If you want to update your entry, you can come back here to do so. Your entry will also move to the end of the line, as if you had just entered a new one. (Just something to remember since we look at entries in order.)

2) Your entry will remain in the database until it is reviewed. You will then be notified if your submission is accepted, rejected, eaten, sat on, a sploded, thrown out the window, or selected as a winner. Entries are reviewed throughout the week but we get many submissions, so it may take some time before you get a response. :)

3) We cannot spotlight lookups containing Non-Neopets or material based upon other's artwork or images. This means we will not consider Harry Potter or Orlando Bloom stories, etc. ;)

Some examples:
The Neopet Rescue Operation
A Hero’s Tale

The Neopets Caption Competition

Every so often TNT will be adding a new caption competition. The rules are simple: Think of the best, wittiest, funniest caption to the picture given and submit it to them. They will select the best ones and award between 5,000 - 10,000 NP, a rare item and a trophy for their cabinet.

Some examples:
626
649

Storytelling Competition
Every week TNT will start a new Story Telling competition.

They will start a story and we have to write the next few paragraphs. They will select the best submissions every day and put it on the site, and then we have to write the next one, all the way until the story finishes.

This is the current story:
Story 323 Ends June 1

The current prize for this story is 2000np and a rare item.

Some Q&A on Story Telling:

Is there anything I should avoid?
1) Romance between characters. According to TNT's Terms of Use, pet dating/marriage is not allowed, so try to avoid the main characters from becoming romantically interested in another character.

2) Weak endings that avoid addressing the plot.
Example #1: ...and all of a sudden the Faerie Queen comes down and makes everything right. The End.
Example #2: "Cut!" the director shouted. "Good job, everyone! It was very believable!"
Example #3: ...and suddenly he woke up! "Phew, it was just a dream."

3) Scenes with excessive gore or death.

You can read more about it HERE.

Here's a story: Story 154.

Neopets Poems
The best poems get put on the site and earn 1,000 Neopoints, a RARE ITEM, and a Trophy for the author's trophy cabinet.

Helpful Hints

1. We prefer to post poems that are 100% original. However, if you really want to submit a Neopian version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" or Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven," then by all means send it in. Keep in mind, though, that we receive a dozen or so "parodies" every week, so unless your version is really, REALLY good, then it probably isn't going to be selected.

2. If you're looking for something to write about, then visiting the New Features page is a great way to find some inspiration. Poems relating to current events on the site stand a much better chance of winning. If a new world has just been launched, or if there's an ongoing plot, then it might be a good idea to make it the topic of your poem.

3. Ideally, poems should be somewhere in the neighbourhood of 25 to 75 lines long. Now, we realise that great poems come in many shapes and sizes, but it's just awfully hard to pick a three line haiku over a well-written poem that's fifty lines long (especially when there's only five winners for each contest).

By the same token, REALLY long poems (100+ lines), usually don't fare too well, either. Why? Because most users don't want to sit there and scroll through an epic poem that takes twenty minutes to read. Every once in a while, if it's unusually good, we'll put up a really long poem; however, this tends to be the exception, and not the rule.

4. As long as a poem is well written, then style or format isn't much of an issue. It doesn't really matter whether a poem rhymes or doesn't rhyme, and in the past a number of haikus, acrostic poems, and sonnets have been chosen as winners.

However, since they are only three lines long, if you choose the haiku style as your format, it's probably a good idea to write 5-8 haikus that all relate to a specific topic. For example, a single three-line haiku about your Kadoatie probably won't get picked; however, a series of six or seven haikus about, say, Krawk Island Petpets, will stand a much better chance.

Also, we receive quite a few acrostic poems for the word "Neopets," so if you send one in, the chances of it being posted aren't very good. In the past, we've had some very creative uses of Acrostic poems, such as a Lost Desert poem in the shape of a pyramid. So, if you're planning to do an acrostic poem, it's really going to need "something extra" to have any shot at getting posted.

Something you should know:
1. Copying the poem of anyone else and submitting it as your own is plagiarism and there is a strong possibility that your account will be frozen... so DON'T DO IT!!!

2. Your poem must include characters, places and events that relate to the Neopets site. If you submit a poem that isn't related to Neopets, your account won't be frozen... just don't expect to see it posted anytime soon.

3. No topics such as religion, politics, suicide etc. are allowed to be discussed in the submissions.

4. Entering the same submission multiple times will NOT increase your chances of being chosen. LOL.
