When you are at Level 4 or 5, go to Pongoras and stock up on Flare Potions (Attack) and Healing Vials. Do not use the flare potions. Reserve it for later use. Once ready, it's time to leave home and start the quest.
I have 206 gold pieces (gp). So I bought 10 Flare Potions and 5 Healing Vials
Before you go, you need maps to navigate your path. Digifort has very good maps. (I emailed them to ask for permission to put their map on my blog. But I don't hear from them. So if you want to see the map, you have to go to their site and check out the map.)
The first destination is The Dark Cave.
Go westward and pass the mountain. Then Head north into the forest. Here you will have to fight the Forest Bearog. They are still quite easy.
Keep going until you see the cave. 
Go into the cave:
And I got attacked by 2 enemies:
A Cave Lupe and a Cave Spyder
When you click begin fight, you will see this.
Select an enemy to attack by clicking on that enemy. The enemy you are going to fight with will have a red square box around him like this:
Be careful. That 2nd enemy will not sit back and watch. It will attack to attack you too.

In NQ 2, you will have 5 types of battle.
One vs One
One Vs Two
Two Vs Three
Three Vs Four
Four Vs Four
One vs One is just like NQ 1.
One vs Two.
The advise is to hack at the one with the lowest hp and watch out for your own hp. Once you got rid of the weaker enemy, it becomes a one vs one battle.
As you get into the abandoned gold mine zone, you will meet these enemies:
Miner Skeleton
He will give you a Healing Flask which can heal 25hp instead of the 15hp from the Healing Vial.
Miner Ghost
From the time I entered this cave till I meet the first boss of NQ 2, I gained 2 levels. At Level 7, I walk up to the boss - The Miner Foreman.
He has 50hp.

Take the blue portal and it will bring you to the entrance of the cave. You will find yourself in the Golden Forest.
