The Zafara is an adventurous little Neopian that likes to read. Not very many have been featured in the Neopets plots except in crowd scenes. It resembles a cross between a reptile and a kangaroo. Zafaras have three spikes on their back, and have two fingers and a thumb on their arms, and big feet with three toes.

The Zafara is said to bring good luck to those who treat them well. Zafaras primarily have three spikes on their back, but this changes in accordance with different colours and characters. According to the information on an old zafara petpage, these spikes were protective fins. Zafaras have an incredible hearing range, but they do not have a good sense of smell. Zafaras have an innate ability to create fire because of their Battledome ability - Zafara Flame.

In the Neopets TCG, Zafaras are associated with the element of light.

The Zafara pilot in the game Advert Attack, a game created by Virtupets.

* Alice

The mother of Bruno and Sophie in the Tale of Woe.

* Edna the Witch

Edna is constantly trying to master her spells, spending most of her time tucked away in her gloomy, grey-walled tower, mixing ingredients in her bubbling cauldron. She is also in NeoQuest II, in the Haunted Woods, part 4 of the game. She is also gives out quests to willing neopians.

* Kayla

An aspiring Potion maker who currently has a shop in Meridell where she sells all her Potions.

* Mr Leer

A professor of Potion Brewing Basics at the NeoSchool. One of our most advanced classes this term, Mr Leer will be taking your Neopet through the basic components of spells and where to find the ingredients. One third of this class will be spent doing practical experiments, the purchase of an apron is recommended. Master Spy. She sells her knowledge and skills to the highest bidder and thus her loyalties are never truly clear. Little is known of this covert Zafara. Her real name is among the many things she's chosen to keep secret about her identity.

* The Zafara Rogue

She is a crafty swordmistress who will relieve your purse of a few Neopoints without you feeling a thing.

* Zina
Zafara member of the Desert Scarabs from the Lost Desert Plot. She is also one of the characters you can play as in the puzzle game Ruins Rampage.

* Delma Harrence

The Defender for Faerieland in Altador Cup 2006. This tireless defender bears the burden of trying to slow down the other teams' scorers while Faerieland's trio of forwards pile up the points. It's a thankless job, but one that she does surprisingly well.

Yurble Day - May 28th

As of November 2006 the Yurble is the 34th most popular pet with almost 2.2 million living in Neopia.

The Yurble is a lion-like Neopet released on May 28, 2004 (the 47th species to be released). Yurbles are curious and fun loving Neopets that love eating just about anything, enjoying the search through the undergrowth for food. Due to thier thick fur, Yurbles dislike getting wet. There curled horns always remain curled unless they are injured.

Famous Yurbles include:
* The Yurble Foreman/Chef/Janitor

AKA "Odd Job Bob" by some Neopets players. He first appeared in the Lost Desert/Qasala Plot, then reappeared in the Altador Mini-Plot. He gets angry quite a lot, and has been known to paint his toenails when he's bored. He first worked as a foreman at the Scroll Repository, then later as chef when his job as forman was terminated in the Lost Desert/Qasala Plot. He then found employment as the janitor in the Hall of Heroes in Altador as part of the Altador Mini-Plot.
Most recently he appeared again as the Graveyard Caretaker in the Haunted Woods Plot - Tale of Woe.

* Hoke Lemtry

The Right Defender for Krawk Island in the Altador Cup 2006. A hard worker with lots of energy, Hoke's big problem is he isn't exactly the sharpest cutlass in the armoury. Lemtry's easily faked out and has a difficult time fighting his way through screens set by opposing players. Krawk Island's fans are hoping that, with time, he'll learn not to be so gullible.

* Yaniq Avaan

The Goalkeeper for the Mystery Island team in the Altador Cup 2006. For all the firepower that this team brings to the tournament, there are some serious concerns about their goalkeeper. Avaan spent most of last year recovering from a major knee injury, and although he's looked solid in the weeks leading up to the tournament, rumour has it that he's been spending a lot of time in the training room lately.

As of November 2006 they are 13th most popular pet with over 5.4 million living in Neopia. This sets a new record for the fastest-growing new species population.

The Xweetok is a thick-furred Neopet originating from the forests of Neopia. They make their homes in hollowed out trees and logs, and are quite agile. Xweetoks enjoy being chased, and often indulge in games such as 'Tag' or 'Hide 'n' Seek' with others of its species. It has small claws on the tips of its paws, allowing it to climb steep crevices that seem difficult to other species.

Famous Xweetoks include:
* Palia Alback

Palia Alback is the Right Forward for Faerieland in the Altador Cup 2006. This speedy scorer is a master of the "one-timer" (taking a pass and immediately shooting it at the goal). However, her lack of size and strength cause her to easily tire.

The Wocky are extremely outgoing, friendly and adventurous. They love the outdoors and the feel of the wind on a sailing ship out on the seas. These neopets together with the Scorchio are usually the reason for treasure discoveries. Unafraid and brave, the Wocky is a perfect and powerful member of any battling adventures,

* XL Striker 3.8

The Left Forward in the Virtupets team in the Altador Cup 2006 . Talk about being the "model" of efficiency! This robot blocks, passes, sets picks, always rotates on the double team, and is 100% incapable of being rattled by the opposing fans' taunts. On the other hand, there's no robot equivalent for that rush of adrenaline that a player gets during a crucial moment late in the game.
