As of November 2006, the Lenny is the 40th most common Neopet with over 1,210,179 living in Neopia.

The Lenny is a bird-like Neopet, possibly based on a stork. There are also versions available that look like different bird species, such as peacocks, flamingos, pterodactyls and macaws. They are generally curious, clever, and intelligent. They can fly, but only for short distances. The Lenny was one of the original pets on the site.

Lennies are among the rarer species, even though they are not limited edition. However, some Lenny owners tend to be particularly proud of their unusual pets. Many people like making jokes about this "nerdy" Neopet.

Many painted Lennies relesemble birds: Pink Lennies stands on one leg, and their beak and wings are tipped with black to resemble flamingos; Faerie Lennies are colored to resemble a peacock; Mutant Lennies resemble vultures; Rainbow Lennies resemble macaws; Brown Lennies resemble Turkies; Tyrannian Lennies resemble pterodactyls.

In the Neopets TCG, Lennies are associated with the element of air.

* The Lenny Conundrum Lenny

A red Lenny of great intellect who always speaks in riddles when he can. He runs the Lenny Conundrum game and is Nephew to Finneus, in the Altador Plot.

* Finneus

The archivist in Altador who is an elderly blue Lenny. He acts as guide for players in the Altador Mini-Plot. He is also the Lenny Conundrum Lenny's uncle.

* Lightning Lenny

A character featured in the Defenders of Neopia Series 2, Mission 2 comic.

* The Lenny Curator

Is the perfect example of why you should never judge a book by its cover.

* Margoreth

A befuddled teacher lost within the depths of the Jungle Palace, Margoreth hopes that a hero will help her escape from that awful place.

* Dayla

She's a Left Forward on the Roo Island team during the 2006 Altador Cup. This former sprinter is one of the fastest players competing for the Altador Cup. Though there's still plenty for her to learn about the game, Dayla has the potential to become an explosive scorer.
